Some of its campaign missions can also be extremely challenging, since, like I said earlier, you have units that behave just like they're in a command and conquer game, but you don't have the vast majority of the tactical possibilities that games like Company of Heroes or Men of War offer. However, just like in Men of War, they also have limited ammo and fuel. Units, for the most part, behave in the same way they would in a game like Command and Conquer, for example. Sudden Strike 4 is, in essence, a traditional RTS without the base building and the resource management part. ![]() It is certainly not difficult to learn and very fun to play, but doesn't have the sheer amount of freedom MOW offers. Both COH 1 and 2 have vehicles and infantry units with some pretty good animations (compared to Men of War or Sudden Strike 4, COH wins hands down when it comes to unit animations). Company of Heroes also has base building and resource management (which may or may not be your cup of tea). The game has several different factions, and they all play very differently from each other, and their units have unique stats and behaviors (in Men of War, the only difference between individual soldiers in most cases is what kind of equipment they are carrying). Unlike Men of War, infantry units actively seek cover when engaging. Just like in Men of War, cover is an important gameplay mechanic. It also has some AMAZING custom missions made by users.Ĭompany of Heroes is more of a traditional RTS mixed with some tactical gameplay mechanics. MEN OF WAR CALL TO ARMS MOD SERIESDespite its flaws, Men of War is a fun game, and with a few tweaks, the series can become a classic in the future. Infantry animations also look stiff and unnatural. However, infantry units and vehicles often have terrible pathfinding, and need you to babysit them constantly (infantry, for example, won't seek cover unless you explicitly order them to do that). Tanks, for example, can be disabled by anti-tank guns and later repaired and captured by your forces. Vehicles also have a realistic damage model. Units have their own individual inventory and can share equipment. It's a game with a focus on realism and a steep learning curve, but also offers you a great amount of freedom. Men of War is an extremely tactical game, with a heavy focus on micromanagement. ![]()
